  • Info: Edwin grew up in an “oralism program” where deaf kids are taught to rely only on lipreading and are not allowed to use sign language. But when he got to high school he finally convinced his parents to put him into the state Deaf school, and that's when he learned ASL. He liked that much better and made lots of friends there.
